Some of my CLARINS Make-up and Skincare

In January I went to a CLARINS make up and skincare consultation.  I bought some products and thought I would show them to you.  I don’t have a detailed knowledge on skincare or make up, so I actually don’t have a big collection of products. I have the basic bits like foundation, powder, mascara, blush and eyeshadow etc, but a new foundation was something on the top of my list to purchase. Pharmacy first Plus is where I bought these CLARINS products and they have a huge range of makeup and skincare items for all different skin types and advisor Maureen to give advice.

Clarins Cream-to-Powder Iridescent Eyeshadow in 10 Silver Grey

Grey is a colour that most people think is too dark for daytime and more for night time wear. If used very lightly or swept gently into the crease of the eyelid it can create a unique look for an everyday eye look. This eyeshadow is very creamy and soft and I thought it would be a good addition to my collection so that I could experiment a bit more with various colours.

Clarins 4-Colour All-in-One Pen, Eyes & Lips

When I saw this makeup pen first I thought it was such a good idea and invention. It’s so fast and easy to use. On the pen there are three coloured eye-liners and one coloured lip liner. The liners are in the colours blue, brown and black and the lip liner is in a nude brown colour. The liners are easy to blend and very precise as well.

Clarins Everlasting Foundation in the Colour 103 Ivory

Foundation I feel, is something very important in a makeup routine. It’s the base of your look and if your base doesn’t match or sit right on you skin it’s not going to look right. So when I wanted to buy a new one, I wanted a foundation that would match my skin tone and look natural. I have quite pale skin and by the end of the day it would get oily especially on my t-zone. The finish of this foundation is long-lasting and matte and you just need a small amount. I really like using this foundation because it’s very light, has a nice scent and most importantly matches my skin tone because I don’t know about you but having a foundation that actually matches solves all problems!

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base

I find when I use this product it helps give me a slight glow or healthy affect to my skin. The liquid is in a pearlescent pink colour.

Clarins Face Contouring Palette

This is a really beautifully packaged palette with three products, a highlighter, a contour and a blush shade. For people like me who have more fair skin it’s difficult to find a nice contour shade that isn’t very dark and orange or doesn’t have hints of sparkles running through it. But this contour shade, for me, I think is perfect. It’s a nice light brown shade with no sparkles and isn’t orange at all.

I never used highlighter before I got this palette because I didn’t really know how to use it and I was afraid I would make an absolute mess if I did. As the highlighter was included I had no excuse but to put it to the test and I actually think it’s very nice. This highlighter is very subtle and light and doesn’t have a lot of colour to it but that’s the main reason why I like this particular colour.

The blush I also liked because it has gold and pink little speckles going through it and of course it looks very natural. The colour is also light it’s not very strong which gives a nice flush to the skin.

I feel it is a very important step to keep your skin healthy and clean. I try my best to wash my face in the morning and at night. I really do feel the difference in my skin when I forget to wash it or when I’m too tired and fall asleep. Using good skin care products can have huge benefits for everyone and can especially help people with acne, something that many teenagers have from mild to severe. Recently though I have been trying my best to drink more water and eat healthier.  These are two factors I think have a big impact on how your skin looks and feels. A lot of us forget how much diet can have an effect on our feelings and it shows through our skin. CLARINS have a very wide range of skincare for everyone no matter what age, and these are some samples that I picked up.

Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser

Your normal everyday cleanser at times may not feel enough and you may just need something stronger that will really give your skin a deep clean, and that’s where an exfoliator comes in. This exfoliator firstly smells amazing. It has orange extracts which makes me want to eat it (I love oranges!). I use this once a week at night time and it leaves my skin feeling firmer and full in the morning when I wake up.

Clarins Hydra Quench Cream Gel

After I cleanse and tone my face I use this as my moisturizer in the morning and at night time. I use it especially when I feel my skin is feeling that little bit dryer than usual and it really helps give more moisture to my skin. As it’s a gel formula it’s a bit thicker than a normal moisturizer.

Clarins Instant Eye Make-up Remover

As soon as I got this I wanted to try it out straight away. It says it’s a heavy eye makeup remover and it helps to remove any sort of eye makeup instantly. For me, it removes my mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow just using two cotton pads which is really fast and easy when all you want to do is hop into bed after a long day!

Clarins Hydra Quench Lotion

This is another moisturizer but is definitely for everyday use when you want a basic lotion to put on. It feels very rich and soothing and you just need a small amount.

Clarins Water Purify One-Step Cleanser

Toner is a product I was only introduced to about two years ago and I really do think it makes a difference. It helps to close the pores in your skin and create a smooth surface for your moisturizer to go on top. I put this all over my face especially where I tend to get oily faster.
